VAMPIROS DE VERDAD.....
... NO CHINGADERAS.... PARTE 1
los vampiros son de los monstruos mas recurrentes en la historia de los medios de expresion humana, desde antes que la revoluconaria novela de Dracula de Bram Stoker, autores como sheridan le fanu trataban a los vampiros como los no muertos, los malditos, los portadores de muerte y el terror..
claro que como todo... esta abierto a interpretación, pero una cosa es interpretar y otra cosa es ignorar lo establecido (como ha pasado con twilight)
pero, aprovechando la popularidad de los vampiros (no batos super caritas que brillan en el sol) me aventaré a construir una lista de recomendaciones de las mejores pelis de vampiros que puedes ver ahorita, quiza haya otras y pueden dejar comments abajo para rastrearlas..
pero empezaremos de lo mas accesible a lo mas oscuro, pues precisamente para introducir a el mundo cinematografico de los vampiros:
Bram Stokers Dracula- dir. Francis Ford coppola
empecé con esta, pues es una adaptación un tanto fiel al libro, pero principalmente, fiel a la escencia del vampiro, aparte es una pelicula bastante accesible, pues hace uso de todo el terror y el romanticismo que la historia ofrece, asi que, puede gustarle al bato metalero que quiere sangre y senos o hasta la morra medio cursi que le gusta tambien asustarse de vez en cuando...
tambien me agrada mucho la ambientacion de cambio de siglo... le da una atmosfera muy buena.
Near Dark- dir. Kathryn Bigelow
Una hibridación interesante de western con vampiros con actuaciones memorables de Lance Henriksen y un joven Bill Paxton, fue opacada por "Lost boys" (la cual tambien es buena, pero en lugar de esa pongo esta en la lista)
es uno de esos minor classics ochenteros, pero tiene de todo, es un crowd pleaser tambien que le puede gustar a quien sea que le interesen los vampiros o el genero.
Let the right one in- dir. Tomas Alfredson
que dark knight ni que nada... esta fue la mejor movie del 2008..y la mejor de vampiros que como near dark fue opacada por lost boys, esta fue por twilight...
planean un remake gringo, pero, TIENEN que ver esta...
oskar es un niño introvertido con problemas en la escuela y ciertas ganas de manifestarse violentamente contra sus compañeros de clase que lo molestan en la escuela, pero un dia conoce a eli, una niña que es un vampiro quien a diferencia de oskar, es algo inadaptada por su naturaleza, pero por esto mismo puede y se manifiesta con violencia...
una dinamica de personaje muy bien manejada, una muy buena historia y una excelente pelicula...
CRONOS- dir. Guillermo del Toro
una refrescante interpretacion del mito desde un punto de vista de alquimia y biologia (temas recurrentes en las movies de del Toro), un vampiro diferente....
ya se planea una edicion de criterion pero la puedes encontrar por ahi... ahora esta mas accesible que nunca.
Un alquimista desarrolla un mecanismo con un insecto que al adherirse a una persona, le procesa la sangre haciendolo mas joven, pero desarrollando una sed de sangre.. pero cuando este mecanismo cae en manos de un anciano vendedor de antiguedades de la ciudad de mexico.. las cosas adquieren otra dimensión..
tambien un crowdpleaser indiscutible..

porque los fans del horror son los mejores fans del cine...
una pieza interesante en chud.com...
revisenla, comparenla con la realidad... creo que tiene mucha razón.
"There are a lot of ways of getting into film nerdery. No two people seem to make the journey from regular joe to movie maniac in the same way, but in my travels I have found that almost 80% of the most dedicated and hardcore film fanatics got in the same way:
Horror movies.
Which isn't to say they're still exclusively horror hounds today. But again and again I meet people who are absolute adorers of the cinematic experience and in their past lurks a horror movie that opened the way. Here are my guesses as to why horror fans make the best film fans.
6) They're Prospectors. Being a horror fan isn't easy. There's a lot of horror out there, and you have to wade through a whole bunch of dross to find the gems. But that's what any good film fan should be doing anyway - not just waiting to be handed the best of the best but be out there, on the ground, sniffing out the best. And the best way to really appreciate the good movies is to spend a lot of time with the bad movies.
5) They're Committed. If you're running a rep house theater and you want to pack the place, I recommend one thing: show a horror movie. If you have a big space that you rent out and want to fill it with people, stage a horror convention. Nobody comes out and shows their support like horror fans. Committment might be the single most important quality for any real film fan - you have to be willing to track down rare films, to go out of your way to see the greats, and happy to throw lots of time and money into their passion.
4) They're Diverse. One of the great things about horror as a genre is its diversity. The genre runs the gamut from the intellectual to the visceral, from the incredibly smart to the incredibly stupid. Horror can appeal to prudes or perverts, to out of their minds wackos to completely straight people. And the fanbase reflects that - not every horror fan has dyed black hair and tattoos of Reagan from The Exorcist. And horror fans, I have noticed, tend to be more varied in race, in gender and in age. And that diversity carries over into regular film fandom for these folks; horror fans are willing to give lots of odd, interesting things a try. Outside of indie snobs nobody has seen more microbudget features than horror fans, and outside of martial arts enthusiasts nobody has seen more foreign films than horror fans.
3) They Respect History. If I'm being honest, part of the reason horror fans are so into horror history is because horror films get remade more than any other genre. And because there's so much junk out there, horror fans tend to have to be open-minded about older films. The great thing about horror is that technology doesn't help it so much - older films with older FX may actually work better than modern films with CGI. But even with all of those caveats, I've never seen a fanbase as aware of their own history. Iconic characters like Frankenstein's Monster and Dracula remain cool and viable today, and respect is still paid to forerunners like Lon Chaney Sr., even among the less hardcore members of the fanbase.
2) They're Fun. Horror is an essentially social genre. While some horror movies work best in a dark room all by yourself, the true gems of the genre are the ones that kill in a packed house. And that social element - actually going out to see horror movies as opposed to watching them home alone - is part of what makes horror fans so much fun to be around. On top of that is the fact that their chosen genre, while it can be serious and thought-provoking, is most often about thrills and chills and you get people who take things much less seriously than continuity-beholden scifi nerds. My experience is that if you want to go to the best party, go to the party filled with horror nerds (and they'll also have more girls at their party. See #4!).

While some fandoms are painfully insular, going so far as to speak made up languages or create impenetrable cliques based on how much you know, horror fans always want to share their love for the genre with new people. When a horror fan says 'You haven't seen that movie?!' it isn't snotty, it's genuine shock mixed with sympathy, and it's sure to be followed immediately by 'I have a copy I can lend you.' Horror remains a genre fed by word of mouth, and horror fans love lending their mouths to the cause. And that's the most important thing any film fan can do - spread their own love of movies to everybody they meet. Being a serious film fan is at least a little bit about being an evangelist, and nobody evangelizes like a horror fan.

ZOMBIES NAZIS???
"The plot of the film is set around a group of Norwegian medical students who go away for an easter vacation in a cabin up in the mountains. Unfortunately, the area they are staying in was used by the Nazis in the German occupation of Norway during World War II. The Nazis raped and pillaged the locals and stole all their gold, until the locals chased the Nazis up the mountains, where they supposedly froze to death. The medical students find a box of gold in the cabin they are staying in, which had belonged to the Nazis. As a result, Nazi zombies come back to reclaim their gold, with a deadly result"

DEAD OF NIGHT... DYLAN DOG AL CINE...POR SEGUNDA VEZ???
Dylan Dog de Tiziano Sclavi es un detective que se encarga de casos sobrenaturales.. como de vampiros, zombies, hombres lobo, etc etc....el comic italiano creado en 1986 ha sido publicado en diversos paises, pongamoslo como un antecesor al Constantine de Alan Moore(watchmen, swamp thing) y la version original de Cal McDonald de Steve Niles (30 days of night)
no he seguido mucho este comic en forma impresa pues aun despues de 22 años sigue algo underground.. por lo menos hasta hoy! pues, ahora se esta haciendo la version hollywood del comic, el cual es muy popular en Europa con seguidores de fanaticos del horror hasta Umberto Eco (how that for a horror comic??) y aparte el director italiano Michelle Soavi (the church) (mejor conocido como el protegido de Dario Argento junto con Lamberto Bava(demons) ) hizo en los 90s, cuando segun el mainstream los zombies ya estaban mas que enterrados, cosa que sabemos que esta lejos de ser verdad despues de dead alive de Peter Jackson y la adaptacion no oficial de Dylan Dog titulada "Dellamorte Dellamore" con Rupert Everett (si.. el amigo de julia roberts en my best friends wedding)
esta es una de las mejores peliculas de zombies que ha dado el genero y europa, lo cual es decir mucho, teniendo en cuenta el boost al nivel 10 que los italianos le han dado al genero...
En la version de hollywood, Brandon Routh (si, el superman de superman returns) encarna a Dylan Dog, aqui podemos ver la primer foto de Routh en caracterización
esperemos que la pelicula le haga justicia al comic o por lo menos que no resulte en un fiasco pues este comic es oro para una serie de peliculas o bien de T.V.. ciertamente merece el reconocimiento por el mainstream como constantine o cal mcdonald (el cual es casi casi un rip off) el director es Kevin Munroe (el director de la ultima peli de las tortugas ninja) que no tiene mucha experiencia pero es todo un geek y no maneja mal la camara, las tortugas ninja pueden decir lo que quieran pero estuvo buena jajaja.. (what can i say.. grew up with them..) chequen el comic que ya lo pueden bajar por torrents o busquenlo en su tienda de comics mejor surtida o por internet, creo que dark horse los edita de este lado del mundo..
Dylan Dog y the Wolfman con benicio del toro este año... cant wait!!!!
